Basquiat's World

In honor of Jean-Michel Basquiat, I created this piece to pay tribute to his story and impactful art. Basquiat's colorful and complex paintings were so effective, that a 1982 painting, "Untitled", sold for $110.5 Million in 2017! This made history by being the most expensive work by an African American artist sold at an auction. Not only that, the piece set a record for the highest price for a work by an American artist and for an artwork created after 1980.
