History is Herstory: Smoothe Marvin

Marvin Gaye was both known as the Prince of Motown  and Prince of Soul from his ability to help shape the sound of Motown in the 60's. His later recordings influenced several R&B subgenres, such as quiet storm and neo-soul. One of my all time favorite song's from Marvin Gaye is, "What's Goin on?" which addressed concerns of the 70's such as poverty, racial issues, war, and drug abuse.
